Aeroméxico will resume flights to Cuba after two years with a daily flight from Mexico City to Havana starting on October 30, 2022. With this new route, the airline will offer an offer of almost 10,000 seats per month.

“For Aeroméxico it is a pride to reconnect our travelers with the beauty, history, culture and gastronomic richness of Havana, after a break due to the COVID-19 contingency. We will continue promoting alliances with the Cuban capital to increase the flow of visitors to the island,” said Giancarlo Mulinelli, Senior Vice President of Global Sales.

The sale of tickets on this route will be available from this weekend. Aeroméxico began its operation to Havana in 2011. By August, the company will reach almost 570 daily flights on 90 national and international routes.

As reported by, at the request of the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), Aeroméxico announced the increase in new routes at the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), for which it will compete on six routes with the of Volaris and Viva Airbus. (Aeroméxico competes in AIFA with Volaris and Viva Aerobus on six routes).

Initially, the airlines operated different routes, but now Aeroméxico will have six routes in competition with the low-cost airlines, such as: Acapulco, Oaxaca, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Mérida and Puerto Vallarta.

The difference would be that Aeroméxico operates with larger aircraft than Volaris and Viva Aerobus that fly with Airbus of 180 and 200 passengers. However, they offer very low rates, although Aeroméxico has a differentiated commercial strategy in what has to do with the loyalty program, the premier cabin, according to the CEO.
