Capgemini will lead an artificial intelligence project to detect diseases of aging | Health







The consortium, made up of 14 other collaborating entities, was selected by the IA Misiones I+D program to receive financing of 12.5 million euros, subsidized with NextGen funds.

A consortium made up of 15 organizations from the industrial and health sectors led by the technology consultancy Capgemini will design and develop a technological solution based on artificial intelligence to detect diseases derived from aging earlysuch as motor, degenerative or neurological pathologies.

The project, called AI4HealthyAgingwas selected by the AI R&D Missions program to receive the highest funding among applicants, €12.5 million which are subsidized by the European Next Generation recovery funds. The program is part of the Digital Spain 2025 Government plans and the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy

The system searches monitor patients with heart failure and stroke, sarcopenia, Parkinson’s, hearing loss and others, to, thanks to artificial intelligence algorithms, make early prognoses and help in decision making.

Capgemini will focus on method design and development, federated learning technologies, and bias detection and mitigation techniques. The Technological Institute of Aragon, the Cajal Institute (CSIC), the Aragonese Institute of Health Sciences, the Aragon Health Research Institute, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia-BarcelonaTech (UPC), the University of Valencia, the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, the Spanish Red Cross, the Andalusian Foundation for Research and Knowledge Management in Otorhinolaryngology (FAIGESCO), Bitbrain, Podoactiva, Technaid, INNTEGRA and Starlab are the other organizations that are members of the consortium.
