Cuba, guest country of honor at the Dominican Dance Festival

The XVII edition of the International Festival of Contemporary Dance (Edanco 2022) will open its doors in the Dominican Republic on September 25, with Cuba as the guest of honor, it was announced today in Santo Domingo.

The event, which will take place until October 9, will occupy various spaces in this capital, and will have the inaugural presentation at the National Gallery of Fine Arts with Crumbs by the Polish artist Monika Wachowicz.

According to the Fundación Encuentro de Danza Contemporánea, in addition to the largest of the Antilles, dancers from Costa Rica, Spain, Poland, Chile, the United States and Canada will be present, along with the hosts.

On the 27th there will be a gala with Mal Paso de Cuba and on the 28th the second season of the Compañía Nacional de Danza Contemporánea will premiere, with the work Roto, by Jozze Antonio Sánchez and Daymé Del Toro, both presentations in the Manuel Rueda room in the School of Fine Arts.

Likewise, on the 29th and 30th of this month, the Gaspar company from the United States will delight the Dominican public in the Plaza Iberoamérica, among other activities planned in the program.

There will be workshops given by national and international teachers, video projections and a great party with dancers, musicians, painters and other artists, in a Dominican Night at the Casa de la Música, located in Ciudad Colonial.
