The South Korean multinational Samsung has represented this Wednesday its new generation of folding mobile phones, the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4 models, the first of them clamshell type, while the second in book format.
According to the president and director of Samsung’s mobile business, TM Roh, in a statement, with these devices the company reiterates its “firm” commitment to this category.
“We have successfully transformed this category, starting from a radical or revolutionary project to achieving an offer of devices with excellent reception that are already enjoyed by millions of users around the world,” he assured.
In the case of the Galaxy Z Flip4, it is a clamshell model, which reaches 6.7 inches with a 120 hertz (Hz) refresh rate when unfolded, while when folded it has a 1.9-inch screen, from where users can perform functions such as replying to messages or taking photos.
The phone features a 10-megapixel (MP) front camera, a main camera module with two lenses: a 12 MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 12 MP main camera with stabilizer.
The Z Flip4 has an extended battery up to 3,700 milliamps (mAh), with ultra-fast charging that allows you to reach 50% of the battery in approximately 30 minutes.
In addition, according to Samsung, it has a thinner hinge and straighter edges than the previous version, it incorporates the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, it has 8 GB of RAM and 128, 256 or 512 gigabytes (GB) of storage.
For its part, the Galaxy Z Fold4 has a 6.2-inch screen in 23:9 format with a 120 Hz refreshment when folded, while opening the phone reveals a 7.2-inch AMOLED 120 Hz screen in format 10:28 p.m.
Although the absolute value of the diagonal does not seem to vary much, the difference between the formats makes this screen almost twice the size of the previous one, so the device looks like a tablet when it is unfolded.
The phone has a main camera with three lenses: a 12 MP ultra wide angle, a 50 MP main wide angle and a 10 MP telephoto lens. In addition, it has a hidden camera under the main screen of 4 MP and another outside of 10 MP.
Like the previous model, the phone has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and incorporates 12 GB of RAM and three versions of storage (256 GB, 512 GB or 1TB). In addition, it has a 4,400 mAh battery and fast charging that allows you to reach 50% of the battery in 30 minutes.
Both the Galaxy Z Flip4 and the Galaxy Z Fold4 will be available in the United States, South Korea and some European regions such as Spain from August 26, although they can already be reserved.
In the case of Spain, prices for the Galaxy Z Flip5 range between 1,099 euros and 1,279 euros, while the Galaxy Z Fold4 can be purchased from 1,799 euros to 2,159 euros
Along with these devices, Samsung has also introduced two new smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, and headphones, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.
