GMC Hummer EV: When success can be a problem

A few months ago, General Motors stated that it was having problems dealing with the growing demand for GMC Hummer EV, mainly due to a shortage of supplies. At that time they confirmed that they could only manufacture 12 copies per day. An excessively low rhythm.

After this, there has been no news about the production rate of the Hummer pick-up, which, if it had not been increased to this day, would be a big problem. This because Rich Latek, director of marketing for GMC, confirmed at the recent Detroit Motor Show that the number of interested parties has increased considerably.

Latek said that the number of orders has been increasing month after month, reaching today 90 thousand reservations corresponding to the two variants, that is, both the SUV and the pick-up. He affirmed that these requests not only come from writing down the name of the interested party on a list, but that 90% culminate in the purchase of the vehicle.

That is to say that currently only the pick-up version of the Hummer is being assembled (which we tested a month ago in Detroit)since the SUV will only begin to be produced during the first quarter of 2023.
