Man Hunted for Groping, Kissing Ladies on Broad Street SEPTA Train – NBC Los Angeles

In less than an hour, a subject, described as black or Hispanic, committed two acts of indecent sexual assault against various women on the SEPTA platform on the Broad Street Line last Monday night.

The events were recorded at 10:30 p.m. at the City Hall station and immediately afterwards at the Tasker/Morris station before 11:30 p.m.

“The video provided of the suspect is very descriptive and we hope that someone knows him and gives us information. We cannot investigate this type of incident if the victims do not report it and there could be more women affected,” said Lt. John Hewitt of the Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit.

The official said that they are focused on investigating what happened and catching the alleged person involved, but “we are not in charge of security on the SEPTA platforms.”

Here’s what we know from the research:

  • The first incident occurred on the southbound Tasker and Morris platform between 10:30 p.m. and 11:45 p.m.
  • A 40-year-old woman was waiting for the train when the subject approached her and asked for a cigarette. She proceeded to give him the one she was smoking and immediately afterwards the individual asked her for a kiss.
  • The lady refused and the suspect grabbed her around the waist, slapped her body and started touching her everywhere inappropriately. He also kissed her before running away when a northbound train pulled into the platform.
  • The second incident was recorded at 11:30 pm at the City Hall station. The 20-year-old victim was waiting for a southbound train when she noticed an individual pursuing her. They both boarded the same locomotive.
  • The woman took a seat and the suspect climbed on top of her and grabbed her breasts. He then pushed her away and fled from the train at the Broad and Snyder station in an unknown direction.

“All these attacks we take very seriously and we need the victims to report them. This type of incident can escalate very quickly from an indecent assault to a sexual assault, so it is important to apprehend the suspect,” Hewitt said.

The description of the individual is as follows:

  • A man, between the ages of 17 and 20, of light complexion and of the black or Hispanic race.
  • Black hair and wearing a white sweatshirt with the emblem of the band Queen on the back, a white hat and short light-colored pants.
  • He is between 5’6 to 5’7 inches tall.

Philadelphia Police are on the trail of a suspect in multiple sexual assaults on SEPTA’s Broad Street Railroad.
