Between the past 18 and 20 September, the events welcomed visitors from countries such as Spain, France and Germanyand buyers from the United States, Canada or Japan.
The events, which were held at the Fiera Milano Rho fairgrounds, enabled a specific space dedicated to Italian footwear, sustainable projects, initiatives proposed by young talents and international brands in the sector.
In the latest edition of Micam Milano, where fashion firms including Benetton, Guy Laroche, Liu Jo, Renato Balestra and Steve Madden participated, the fair welcomed a total of 657 exhibitors, of which 371 came from abroad and 81 firms were Spanish.

Yesterday, coinciding with the closing day of the events, at the Milano Rho venue also kicked off the Lineapelle Milano footwear fair in Milan and the Simac-Tanning Tech machinery and leather goods showwhich is held annually.
In this edition of Lineapelle, the participation of Spanish companies, which adds up to more than fifty firms, is managed by the Spanish Association of Footwear and Leather Goods Components and Machinery Companies (AEC), under the umbrella Footwear Components From Spain.
After the end of the event, the participating companies will also attend Futurmodawhose next edition will be held at the Institución Ferial Alicantina on October 5 and 6, 2022.
According to a report prepared by the Italian footwear employer Assocalzaturificithe footwear industry in Italy has closed the first half of the year with a rise in sales of 14.5%. By region, Europe boosted its sales by 23% in the period, with France and Germany in the lead.
“The Italian companies in the sector have registered a good performance of their sales in the European and North American markets, although the sector in China has fallen due to the confinements of last spring”, highlighted Giovanna Ceolini, president of the employers’ association, in a release.
