Poetics of the Naborí Indian vibrates among followers of his work in Cuba

During the meeting held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, the documentary The Measure of a Sigh, by Patricia Tápanes, was premiered, which is part of a joint project between the Naborí Indian Cultural Research and Promotion Office, the record company Bis Music and the Pebble initiative.

The proposal is completed with the album Blanco caminito open and a booklet, which explores the improvisational talent of Orta Ruíz throughout his existence, a facet that elevated him in the popular imagination in his polyphonic career between poetry, tenths, sonnets and romances. .

According to Fidel Orta, son of the artist and coordinator of the Office, the film evokes Naborí’s passage through Cuban culture, through his own voice, singing and reciting verses that transcended the passage of time and reaffirm his words around to the mystique of improvised poetry.

For his part, Tápanes recalled the hard work carried out by the production team made up of José Manuel García, David González, Pedro Pulido, Daniel Legón, María Eugenia Azcuy, Tomás Fernández, Julián Martínez, among others, in rescuing the recordings.

Likewise, Fidel Orta highlighted the opportunity to bring the work of the poet and decimist closer to the new generations and revere his legacy, just on the anniversary of the birth of his life partner, Eloina Pérez.

In the epilogue of the event, the voices of Cuban Punto cultists and the repentismo of various territories of the country joined their voices, in a poetic round, which became a festival of traditions and sound identity on the island.

On the occasion of the centenary of the creator (1922-2005), community entities and projects conceived a varied program of actions, dedicated to demonstrating the validity of the work and thought of the National Prize for Literature (1995), whose work included poetry, essay , studies of traditions, folklore and journalism.

Author of texts in prose and verse translated into different languages ​​and included in important Cuban and foreign anthologies, his work is characterized by the polyphony and diversity of edges addressed, as a great innovator of the tenth, political poetry and intimate literature, Fidel pointed out.
