Ready stadium in Panama for baseball classic qualifiers

The colossus, inaugurated in 1999 and with capacity for 25,000 spectators, is named in honor of the first Panamanian member of the MLB Hall of Fame.

According to the director of the Panamanian Institute of Sports (Pandeportes), H├ęctor Brands, the work carried out on the installation was intense because it had not been intervened for 20 years.

Panama will host from September 30 to October 5 one of two qualifying competitions with teams from Argentina, Brazil, New Zealand, Nicaragua and Pakistan, in addition to the host.

Germany, at the Armin-Wolf-Arena in the city of Regensburg, hosts another preliminary event from September 16 until this Wednesday with the teams of the Czech Republic, France, South Africa, Spain and the United Kingdom.

The two best teams from both qualifiers will join the remaining national teams already qualified for the tournament to be played in March 2023.

In the matches of the isthmus, on Friday, September 30, New Zealand will debut against Brazil and Pakistan against Argentina.

On Saturday, October 1, the winner of the challenge between New Zealand and Brazil will play against Nicaragua, while the winner of the duel between Pakistan and Argentina will face Panama.
