Since a few weeks, director George Miller is immersed in the filming of furiousthe film about the origins of Imperator Furiosa, the memorable character played by Charlie Theron in Max Max: Fury Road (2015), which is now assumed by Anya Taylor-Joy in a younger version.
But this 2022 is also a premiere for the renowned Australian filmmaker: within the framework of the last edition of the Cannes Film Festival, it was screened for the first time three thousand years of longinghis most recent demonstration of overflowing imagination and power as a storyteller.
Based on the collection of stories published by writer AS Byatt in 1994, the film follows a Ph.D. in literature (Tilda Swinton) who crosses paths with a genie (Idris Elba) who offers to grant her three wishes. After her initial refusal, she begins to tell him the fantastic stories of her past.
“three thousand years of longing it’s touchingmore than it seems to be prepared for most of its runtime, and more than its disjointed structure seems to allow,” the IndieWire portal noted in its review, calling it “bombastic” and assuring that “the chemistry between Swinton and Elba becomes more and more powerful.”
As confirmed by its local distributor, its release in Chilean theaters will take place on September 1, a week after its arrival in theaters in the United States.
It will arrive on the billboard with the title once upon a time there was a geniuseithera total reinterpretation of its original name.
