Tom Hardy won a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu championship

Tom Hardy surprised all his fans when this week the news broke that not only had he participated in a martial arts tournament in a small town in England, but he was also champion among all competitors in the same category.

As reported by the media Guardian, Hardy entered the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Open Championship at a high school in Milton Keynes, England.. The actor decided to do it with his original name, which is Edward Hardy and, unlike in Warrior -film that he starred in 2011 where he played just a fighter-, Tom managed to win all his fights.

Speaking to the aforementioned outlet, a tournament organizer described Hardy as “a really nice guy” and added: “Everyone recognized him, but he was very humble and was happy to take time for people to take pictures with him. It was a real pleasure to have him compete in our event.”

This is not the first time that Hardy has shown up unannounced at a jiu-jitsu competition. In late August, the actor won the REORG Jiu-Jitsu Open Championship in Wolverhampton, England, where one of his opponents compared him to his Bane character. in The Dark Knight Rises.

Regarding his work as an actor, Hardy is currently preparing to star in the third film of Venom -of which details of the plot are not yet known- and Havoc, a Netflix original thriller where he will play a detective who must rescue the son of a renowned politician. This latest production will also be directed by Gareth Evans.
