Vince Gilligan has been immersed in the universe for almost 15 years breaking bad. Since the premiere of the original series, in January 2008, the writer and producer has not moved from Albuquerque and its intersection of crime, drugs and lawyers, achieving outstanding results.

The end of Better Call Saulset for next Tuesday, August 16 (on Netflix), will close the story starring Bob Odenkirk and also the plot that featured characters like Walter White (Bryan Cranston), Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) and Gus Fring ( Giancarlo Esposito).

This was clarified by Gilligan in the context of the last virtual panel of the series organized by the TCA (Television Critics Association).

“I feel like we probably forced it by doing a spin-off of breaking bad (but) couldn’t be happier with the results. then i did The way and I’m very proud of that too. But I think I’m starting to feel like you have to know when to leave the party, you don’t want to be the guy with a lampshade on your head,” he posed.

He then acknowledged that “I have no plans right now to do anything else in this universe. I know I probably gave the same answer at the end of breaking bad. I have to prove to myself that I have something else in me.”

In the same instance, Peter Gould, co-creator of Better Call Saul, left a window open: “I love Albuquerque. I love Bob, I love Rhea, I love Vince, I love the whole group, so we’re going to keep the band together as long as we can and also, never say never, who knows how we’re going to feel in a couple of years,” she expressed.

As specified earlier by the Deadline medium, Gilligan is working on a new production with Sony Pictures TV. The sources consulted compare the series with The X-Files Y The Twilight Zone“focusing on people and exploring the human condition in an unexpected and surprising way.”

It is detailed that the fiction still does not have a confirmed platform or channel, but that there are multiple interested parties willing to pay whatever is necessary to keep the project.
